OSU Airport Improvement Program
The Ohio State University Airport is beginning the process of improving the Airport, by proposing a precision instrument approach to the west on the north runway; increasing the length of the North runway to 6000 feet, and building hangars. The existing South runway is 5000 ft long.
The Environmental Assessment started in January 2003. Soon after, residents of the City of Worthington complained, and the matter was discussed at length at a February Worthington City Council meeting. In March, the City Council authorized $10,000.00 for legal services to explain to the City what their options are to block the runway extension. The law firm selected to represent the City is a Toledo firm, Zoll & Kranz, represented by Dave Zoll
Dave Zoll and
Dennis Hughes, consultant with the law firm Zoll and Kranz, gave his $49,000.00 interpretation of the OSU Airport's Environmental
Assessment.
Rumor has it that he will also ask for more money to press for an Environmental
Impact Statement. Zoll & Kranz and others will have been paid $142,000.00 so far.
